Islamia College of Education – Sudhnoti, Pallandri

Affiliated with the University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir

The mission of Islamia College of Education Sudhnoti Pallandri is to prepare proficient educators who demonstrate in-depth content knowledge, cultural competence, and sensitivity as well as an array of effective pedagogical skills.

Islamia College of Education (ICOE) was established in 1999 by Sardar Muhammad Hussain Khan (Late). He recognized the urgent need for a teacher training institute in this region, as students were facing difficulties in pursuing professional courses such as P.T.C, C.T, and O.T—programs that were essential for teacher appointments.

After retiring, Sardar Muhammad Hussain Khan dedicated his full attention to this mission, ensuring that local students would no longer have to travel to other districts for teacher training. Thus, ICOE was founded as a private institution in Pallandri. Initially, the college offered P.T.C and C.T courses registered with the AJK Board, Mirpur.

During his career, he served as D.D.S in Mirpur, Kotli, Deerkot, and other districts. His vision soon led to the expansion of the college to include O.T, J.D.P, and eventually B.Ed (Annual) in 2004, after affiliation with the University of AJK, Muzaffarabad.

Following his passing, his son Mr. Shahzad Zafer and Mrs. Nazia Shahzad continued his legacy and took responsibility for the college’s growth and success.

Islamia College of Education

Message of Founder,
Sardar Muhammad
Hussain Khan (Late)

I always prayed that Allah, the Exalted, would grant me honor and dignity throughout my service. After retiring as a Director, I decided to work for a cause instead of living in idleness. While serving across districts, I realized our region lagged behind in education mainly because teachers were not trained locally. That realization inspired me to establish Islamia College of Education as a center for teacher training. I believe this light of knowledge will continue to shine even after my death.

Islamia College of Education
Message of Principal,
Mrs. Nazia Shahzad

Education is the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, knowledge, and skills through schools and universities. It enables individuals to recognize their potential and become responsible citizens of society.

As Francis Bacon, the father of prose, said in his essay Of Studies: ‘Studies serve for delight, for ornament, and for ability.’

Islamia College of Education began its journey 25 years ago, when its founder, Sardar Muhammad Hussain Khan, took this historic step to fulfill a dire need in the area. Today, we remain committed to providing quality education and preparing our students to become capable citizens.

We are grateful to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for supporting us in offering such opportunities to students in this region, enabling them to continue their higher education through Islamia College of Education.
